Today is the first post of this new blog post series called: “The Cozy Outfit Series” and the weekly series will continue until March. Since I’m in Canada and winter season right now is brutal, I only wear the coziest clothes and bundle up but even if all we want is to stay warm AF, we can still look stylish and be cozy at the same time!
During winter, I focus on winter coats, cardigans, scarves and sweaters to style my outfits. I only wear jeans and sometimes leggings. I keep it simple for the bottoms. And if I wear a dress, I pair it with leggings (because thicker the better for the legs when it’s minus 30!) or tights. Even when I was going out, I’d wear tights during winter.
So today, we’re starting with the winter coat because that’s a must in Canada and you won’t go too far without one. You want your winter coat to be super warm otherwise you will have a miserable winter. I find puffer coats to be the warmest and a wool coat comes second for me. Usually, winter coats are expensive if you want good quality and a good-looking coat. But if you don’t want to spend too much, I recommend Zara. The coats are trendy and not too expensive.
Also, I recommend long winter coats and not the short ones where your butt isn’t covered. The longest, the warmest! Bonus: you can wear shitty looking jogging pants with your long boots to the grocery store and no one will notice!
On the Black Friday sale last fall, I bought this puffer coat from Zara. I’m the type of person who likes to wear her winter jacket for a loooooong time. I have a Canada Goose (Vegans can throw organic tomatoes at me, I know I made a terrible selfish choice 8 years ago) and I have a Mackage coat too (more chic and no fur on this one!). But when I saw this navy puffer coat from Zara on sale for $120, I couldn’t resist a cheap, stylish winter coat to replace my old, less stylish but warm Canada Goose.
This coat is surprisingly warm and love the faux fur on the hood and the belt around the waist. I paired it with my new pink beanie from Asos and my backpack (another buy from the Black Friday sale!). The boots are a Christmas gift.
This is my everyday winter outfit right now. Whenever I go outside that’s how I look!
Happy Friday! and don’t forget to check out my latest YouTube video if you didn’t yet!
