So 2016 is coming to an end. A lot of people are really happy it’s over and others are thankful for all the good things that happened to them this year. It’s been a tough year in so many ways; life threw me some really good curveballs. Everything seemed fine at the beginning of the year, I went to Mexico in January and it was an amazing trip and I was working on a TV show until April. That’s when shit started to hit the fan and the rollercoaster ride began.
The bad of 2016: My dog was diagnosed with skin cancer, I had a car accident (my dog was with me) and the car was a total loss, I was dealing with rejection in so many ways, I was depressed for a month; I suffered from fatigue and low energy, I had to go through my first really slow, almost unprofitable season in real estate, and suffered from it financially.
But let’s talk about the good now because I’m proud of so many things that came my way this year; I’ve spent the last two years rebuilding my worldview and when I compare myself to where I was a year ago, I’ve made a lot of progress. Some good things happened on the acting side, I improved my English pronunciation, I wrote and shot my first scene without the help of anyone (okay, except my boyfriend, who directed and edited it) and I learned the basics of filmmaking by myself and I’m still learning! I finally went to New York, I reconnected with a few old friends this year, I got a brand new 2016 Smart car (the insurance covered it after the car accident) and my dog is a cancer free survivor now (and crossing my fingers she stays this way!), my boyfriend and I had our one year anniversary (oouuhhh!) and last but not least, I launched my blog! Yes! The word “blog” was on my to-do list since 2014 and I finally found the resources and the time to do it! I was fucking scared to start it because we all know how hard and saturated the market already is but I decided to launch it anyway because if I didn’t’ do it, how would I know that I could do it. I need to put myself out there more and I also like the creative and business side of it. I know it’ll be a hard and long journey and I have to be patient but in the meantime I’m making it happen!
Now I’m ready for 2017 and I’ve been anxiously waiting for it (I’m an ’89 baby so I believe odd years are the best and luckiest for me). I want to focus a lot on loving and taking care of my body and my mind by working out (being consistent is something I’m working on!), eating healthier and just being conscious of my overall wellbeing. Also, I want to be more positive, more grateful and I want to practice self-love on a daily basis. I have so many projects and goals in 2017 for the blog but also for acting and real estate!
If you haven’t done it already, take the time to write down your (realistic!) resolutions, set your goals for the new year, and then put the paper away until the end of the year. I always do that and then I review it. This year, I will also use a vision board, create a meditation space and I’m going to break down my goals on a monthly basis.
Ready for the New Year? For new possibilities?
Wishing you all the best for 2017!
